This is the Prestbury Community Policing Forum website. We represent a community based in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Our suburbs include Prestbury, Napierville, Signal Hill, Lester Park, Boughton, Blackridge and Lower Mount Michael
. Our local police station is the Prestbury Police Station located at Swartkop Road, Prestbury, Pietermaritzburg.
We are a not-for-profit representative body of local residents, with an elected executive committee. Our mandate is conferred by the Consitution of South Africa, and his has been further supported by the South African Police Services (SAPS) Act 68 of 1995 that mandates all station commissioners to establish such forums at station level.
A Community Policing Forum is a platform where community members, organisations, local business, and other relevant stakeholders and the police meet to support local crime prevention initiatives.
Community Watch
We are dedicated to ensure the safety of all within our community. By having visible patrols within our community we hope to deter those that would attempt any criminal acts.
Community / SAPS Relations
The CPF are meant to act as the go between for members of the communty . If there are any issues , complaints or even compliments contact us and we will pass them on to the relevent person.
Community Outreach
We as the CPF are committed to running various campaigns and outreach programs in order to assist the public in the various challenges they might face.
